Garbanzo - thanks for the explanation of your masters comments on WLW last night. I agree that the lady who breast-fed her dog is a bit creepy but Scott Sloan was implying that because the puppy was breast-feeding it was taking sustenance from the owner's baby. This, however, is not true. A mother can breast-feed as long as their is still someone or something there to suckle. It's not like the woman had a limited amount of breast milk and the dog was "stealing" it from the baby. That comment went too far.

In addition - it is great to think that your master is so trustworthy of this particular judge and the judge's decision when nearly everything was discussed behind closed doors and without the inclusion of the dog warden who originally filed the charges. In addition, the prosecution, as claimed by the humane society, was not exactly steadfast. My neighbor, a small poodle mix who will remained unamed, said his owner used to work for Judge Lyons and, well, let's just say Mr. Lyons isn't exactly someone for whom you should wag your tail.

I cannot see how Judge Lyons' decision to put the dog back into the hands of the owner and requiring regular vet visits and a dog care book can possibly be considered a punishment equal to the crime. He is only requiring this owner to do what our owners already do - care for us no matter what. This doesn't send the right signal out to other people currently neglecting their dogs. All it says is that animal cruelty deserves a slap on the wrist and some fees (or maybe to be sent to your room/crate/corner).
